What We Do

Quincy offers just what you need for smooth, efficient planning and implementation of every aspect of your film production. Want to film your next movie right here in Quincy? We’ll make it easy for you!

We’re here to assist you with pre-production, acting as a liaison between you and your potential locations, on-location assistance as needed. The Quincy Film Bureau provides the following services (and much, much more!):

  • Research of sites for filming
  • Referral and access to technical support services
  • Referral and access to crew, talent and other professional personnel
  • Liaison services between local and federal agencies, the private sector, and production companies
  • Assistance in securing permits or clearances required for use of public areas
  • Assistance in making necessary arrangements with the Police Department for traffic control, crowd control or barricading of street

How It Works

The Quincy Film Bureau is a program that operates within the Quincy Chamber of Commerce and formerly Discover Quincy. We act as a mediator between the Film/Production and the City, Local Business, Resident, Organization. We help to ease the process if you will.

One of the biggest issues and/or complaints within the industry is that there is no one person/place that the potential film has to work with, especially within a city or town. In an industry that spends tens of millions of dollars (and up), within a 3 to 6 month production schedule, there isn't that much time to try and negotiate with so many separate entities. They will just move to the next city or town and deal with the easiest community and make the deal.

So far this industry has pumped in well over $200,000.00 to Quincy alone through a variety of resources. This is revenue that was never expected or budgeted.

Projects that have been filmed in Quincy include:
